2015,
This has been overdue for some days now but I finally have the time to write. I said I would post something last week, but I underestimated the amount of work I had to do for my classes. However, now I have a lot more time to write. With that said, here's a few things about last week:
I know this is such a cliche and lame beginning, but last week's weather was much colder than I expected. Since I do live in L.A. its expected, but the whole week it was around 60 degrees- in the middle of spring. Like, what? However, the sky was absolutely stunning when the sun broke through. I wish I could have taken a better picture, but the best view was driving home on the 101. When I exited the freeway, I finally couldn't take it anymore and pulled over to take this picture.
On Thursday, I had a Quantitative Research midterm exam. I was so nervous to take the test. I knew the material but I wasn't confident. However, whenever I have big exam (midterm/final), one of my favorite reminders is, "If you know the material, you know the material. If you don't, well too bad." Haha. I know… it's a big sad. But it is true. If you don't know something on the test, there's nothing you can do.
Some of my friends and I ended up spontaneously meeting up before our test. We quizzed each other on our notes and clarified any questions we had on the material. I actually have never studied in a group before, so it was nice to experience it was some of my COMM major friends. (:
Also, here's a little advice that one of my friends and I use to make ourselves feel better when taking a test: wear an outfit that makes you feel good. If you know you're not going to well or need something to boost your mood- put on something that makes you feel confident.
Oh, and did I mention I started running again? I love running and I finally have some time in the morning to squeeze a few miles in.
It's nice to finally go running again. Before, I always ran in the evening after I got home but recently, I started running in the morning. And you know what? It's so nice! My neighborhood is always quiet so it's comforting to run all by myself and get some alone time with nothing but nature to surround me.
Once I finish running, I make myself breakfast.
I've had the same breakfast for the past week- toast with avocados (sometimes with spinach) and egg, and some type of fruit. It's delicious and healthy.
Funny how working out again and eating much more healthy has made me feel good not only about myself, but also how I view my day. If you haven't been feeling all that good, change something about your daily routine to make you feel better.
Yesterday was Mother's Day! I ran early in the morning and then got ready for service. Afterwards, my family ended up staying home in the afternoon since we were all pretty exhausted. For dinner we decided to go out. I finally had the opportunity to take my family to one of my favorite places to eat- Lemonade. I got my regular (the kale salad and truffled mac) and decided to try the seared Ahi Tuna.
Since it was a bit early, my family and I decided to go to the Grove. We ended up watching Avengers: Age of Ultron. If you haven't seen it, I recommend it. Once we got out of the theatre, my family was pretty much tired. It was near midnight anyway so we went home. It was nice to spend some quality time with my family since it doesn't happen very often.
I hope you all a good day with your mother/father. If you didn't have the time or wasn't able to spend the day with your mom/dad, remember to appreciate them and tell them you love them while they are still here. Because sooner or later, when we're much older, they won't always be present.
I hope you all have an amazing week.
