Words and Coffee

Hey beautiful people. I hope your weekend has been going well. Today has been a relaxing day for me (thank goodness!). I stayed up until three am last night with one of my friends watching The Flash. My little brother introduced me to the show and I've been obsessed with it ever since! It's incredible. Not to mention, Grant Gustin is good-looking and The Flash is an amazing superhero.

I've spent most of my day watching the show, studying for finals, and trying to put together an outfit for tomorrow. Tomorrow's one of my childhood friend's birthday party and I still don't know what to wear at this point. I have a few outfits in mind, but I'm still not sure what I want to wear. Guess I'll see how I feel tomorrow.
When I was taking a break, I was looking through my tumblr page and was noticing a lot of coffee pictures, which made me crave coffee. Honestly, I usually like my coffee black. I don't usually like it with cream/milk or sugar, but I decided I wanted try my hand at latte art.

It took me several times to steam the milk and get enough foam but I tried my best. I ended up making a heart.

Once I prepared my coffee, I decided to snack on a few wafer sticks and get some writing done. I've been reading a lot of poems by Mr. Edward Allan Poe lately and I'm currently obsessed with his words right now.

There's just something about words that entices me. How powerful words can be. How they can instantly affect someone. How words can make up a conversation, a song, a book. How a few words can make us or break us. And even...how no words at all, can "say" just as much.

On Thursday, I went to one of my favorite coffee shops by my house to do some work. Once I finished with my work I pulled out my journal and began writing in it… an hour later, I had no tea left to drink and a sore hand. That being said, I took my coffee (with my very own failed latte art) and I end up turning to my journal to write my thoughts down. Now, I'm relaxed and soothed.

That's it for today! I hope you all have a good, relaxing weekend.

You stay taking those pictures

Hi everybody!

Happy Wednesday! Oh my gosh, it's JUNE! I totally forgot that it's time to welcome a new month. I stumbled upon my phone's wallpaper on Monday and noticed it was June 1! Where did May go? I welcomed June staying at home and chilling... like it was already summer vacation.

I literally have two weeks left of school then I'm done. This is our last week of classes (Week 10). Meaning, one more day of classes for me, then finals week next week!

Yesterday, my honor society had it's last meeting. In lieu of our usual general meeting in a class room, we headed out in front of our campus's theatre to have a photo shoot. It was so fun to be all together! Honestly, I joined LPE because I was recommended to join and a lot of my fellow COMM friends were in it. Little did I know, that the people in this organization were soon going to be family. Throughout this quarter, I was able to grow closer to some of my friends while also having the opportunity to meet new people. This quarter has been such an amazing quarter... a great way to end my third year of university.

This morning, I woke up feeling really unsettled and stressed out. I decided to make myself breakfast since I've been waking up late on my days off or eating cereal before heading out. I was craving some alone time and a nice big ol' brekky. I gave myself just that. I prepared pancakes and eggs with a side of fruit, and of course, iced black coffee (my fave).

By the way, none of the pictures includes the fruit because I left it on the counter and forgot about it. Ha!

I ended up finding maple syrup in our fridge and read it was from Canada. My mom's friend gave it to us a few weeks ago when she came back from her trip. I decided to try it with my pancakes and it was so good! No wonder Canadians like their maple syrup so much, it's delicious

I was able to start my day with a relaxing morning. I was eating a delicious breakfast, accompanied by soothing music and a good book, what could possibly be a better morning?

Since I have the day off, I'm using today to do some homework/projects and relax a little bit. It's finals week next week and I'm trying to do my best to minimize my stress levels. Spring quarter is always the longest and hardest quarter for me. I'm almost done with this quarter and my third year. Just gotta finish strong in this last leg of the race. Whooo!

Music & Reflections

Good afternoon everyone!

I thought I would do today's blog as I reflect on what has happened to me the past couple of months. I know when I started this blog, I was 100% committed and had so much free time on my hands that I could keep up with my goal of blogging at least three times a week. However, what I didn't think about was what would happen when I got so busy...I kept procrastinating on the ideas I wanted to blog about that when my schedule started to pick up, I ultimately chose to put blogging as the last thing to do my to-do list.

These last couple of months I've been blessed with such a hectic, crazy, and busy life. Just a tiny fact about me- I love being busy and having things to do. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy having free time and being steady and silent, but I love being able to have a full calendar and know what I'm doing on certain days and what time. So what have I spent my days doing? Well, a few months back I was introduced to a friend's cousin and we just clicked. We got along very well and then went out for frozen yogurt, after spending a couple of hours together, we promised to stay in touch and made plans for a sleepover and hiking to the Hollywood sign. After matching schedules and picked which weekend to have our slumber party, we made it happen. She and I spent our night talking and morning hiking, when the afternoon came around she and I decided to spend the rest of our day walking around the mall and doing some shopping. We left the mall not long after I impulsively decided to fill out a job application for one of my favorite companies... and the rest is history.

Long story short, she and I are now great friends and I got the job. I've been working a ton but I absolutely am in love with my job and what I do. However, I did have to find a balance between school, work, church, family, friends, projects and homework that I couldn't fit blogging in my schedule. This morning I awoke and had the urge to spend some time just writing and letting my thoughts flow as I type on my laptop. Now, I have decided that I will continue to blog when I can because I can't let go my love for reading, writing, and sharing my thoughts to my readers. I just want to express how grateful I am for being able to do what I do and having such a blessed life to spend with such loving, talented, and beautiful people.

So while the water is falling from the sky and making the beautiful sounds of rain, while my thoughts keep running about how blessed I have been these past few months, while Iron and Wine plays quietly on my laptop, I hope every single one of you reading this has beautiful day or night...wherever you are.
